Animal Mama, in collaboration with the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), provides vet care to all working dogs in Cambodia. In addition, Animal Mama undertakes a vital mission to Ratanakiri every three months, a region known for its mine detection efforts. This initiative is a testament to our commitment to community safety and animal welfare, aligning with our organizational goals and values. Our primary objective is to support the Mine Detection Dogs (MDDs) of NPA, essential in locating and neutralizing landmines from past conflicts. These operations not only mitigate the risks posed by unexploded ordnance but also facilitate the safe development and use of land, contributing to the region's socio-economic recovery.

This support ensures these dogs maintain optimal health and are fully capable of performing their critical duties. The well-being of the MDDs is a priority, reflecting our dedication to animal welfare and the success of de-mining operations.
Capacity Building: Beyond immediate veterinary care, Animal Mama contributes to capacity building by offering training and resources to local handlers. This initiative ensures sustainable care and maintenance of the MDDs’ health and operational efficiency, extending the impact of our mission.
This mission underscores Animal Mama's strategic approach to animal welfare and community safety. By directly addressing the health needs of MDDs, we support the broader objectives of landmine clearance, ultimately contributing to the region's development and the safety of its inhabitants.
