World Rabies Day is a global day of awareness that is now in its 12th year. Governments, organisations and individuals hold events on this day that highlight their work and educate their communities.
Animal Mama is committed to eliminating Rabies and will be working to Vaccinate, Microchip, Spay & Neuter 1,500 street and Pagoda animals in Cambodia throughout September 2018. Join us in sharing this important day and encourage everyone to get involved and make a difference in their community.
We take a science-led approach, focusing on the collaboration between animal and human health organisations which is central to the success of our actions and activities. Our Rabies Eradication Program is run alongside our Pagoda Spay/Neuter Program where we Desex, Vaccinate, Treat, and Microchip every animal.
Volunteer to help set up, collect animals, and support our field teams in Pailin, Sihanoukville, Battambang, and Phnom Penh. Join this community action and let’s make a difference together.
In Cambodia, up to 1,000 adults and children die of rabies every year, and these are only the reported cases. Almost all of them contracted rabies from a dog infected with the rabies virus. Rabies has the highest fatality rate of any disease and around 40% of those who die from rabies’ agonizing symptoms are children.
Donate anything you can from $1 or more, everything helps. The more we can raise, the more animals we can vaccinate, spay/neuter, microchip, and release. Together, we can save lives!
